Drying things, checking for damage

September 26th Day 105

Donal brought me back to Galway last night and I was able to sleep in this morning and just think about everything. I think it’s going to take quite a while to process what happened. We water tested the boat for holes and I’ve been able to dry out all my things. Nothing was soaking but the hatches aren’t completely dry. Got a message from a woman named Jackie in Ballina who could bring me to where I wanted to start now moving forward. The reason also why Donal was there before was that the weather was to be bad for that section for the next week or so, so rather than stay and wait it out, the plan was for him to take me to around the corner towards Belmullet and then shoot down through there in the protected area of the west while I could. So that’s still the plan, and I’ll come back to north Mayo when the weather is calmer. He drove me to Jackie’s and I had a nice warm bed to sleep in.
